How I Work
Deciding to start counselling can feel scary and daunting. The idea of opening up your heart to be vulnerable with another person is brave. However, you have already made the first step.
First Contact and Enquiry
I offer a FREE 15-minute telephone Consultation where we can discuss what’s currently going on for you and what you feel you want to bring to counselling. Importantly, a chance to work out if I’m the right counsellor for you. Please feel free to bring any questions you may have.
For couples, the FREE 15-minute Consultation is to be at a time when you are both there to speak to me together and not as individuals.
When a session is agreed upon, I’ll send you a copy of my contract and an enquiry form for you to fill out before our first session. Alternatively, please feel free to use my online booking calendar, and I will also send you the same things to fill in.
The First Session
Individual Therapy
Our first session will be checking the contract, with an opportunity for you to ask any questions you may have. The space will then be yours to bring whatever brings you to therapy.
Couples Therapy
In the first session, I will ask some introductory questions about your current relationship and your overall health and well-being. We will discuss your family of origin, including your parents and siblings. This session is designed to give each of you the space to express your thoughts and feelings from your own perspective.
